About the role
- Develop, organize, and execute significant VA capture activities.
- Create and execute VA customer engagement plans.
- Determine VA customer requirements, pain points, acquisition strategies, and evaluation priorities.
- Perform and/or lead research efforts to build a deep capture pipeline and continually prioritize efforts to maximize return.
- Assess the competitive landscape and determine optimal teaming partners based on shared business goals and complimentary functional capabilities.
- Maintain and cultivate customer engagement with key stakeholders, and identify appropriate venues for relationship building and gathering strategic market intelligence.
- Coordinate meetings with potential industry partners to share insights on the market, capabilities, and opportunities for innovation.
- Establish win strategies and value propositions to translate to capture and proposal team.
- Create and manage qualified pipeline of VA opportunities over a 3-5 year forecast period. For those efforts:
- Perform competitive analysis and outreach to build opportunity-specific teams.
- Manage NDA and Teaming Agreement communications (with the help of the in-house Contracts team).
- Serve as the Capture Manager during the RFP response stage by leading the proposal team in developing a winning proposal, with specific help in developing win themes, competitive pricing, and presenting a clear understanding of the customer.
- Assume a leadership role in SteerBridge’s weekly capture meetings, present strategies, and develop actionable roadmaps to advance opportunities through the sales cycle.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in related technical or health field
- Minimum of 5 years total Business Development/Capture/Growth experience with the Federal Government and at least 3 years of recent experience with the VA; direct VA experience in a delivery capacity can be substituted.
- Existing expertise and relationships within OIT, VBA, and/or VHA to facilitate strategic teaming relationships and customer intimacy.
- Knowledge of VA systems, business and operational processes, organization structure, mission, etc.
- Network of VA customers/key people/teaming partners.
- Knowledge of how business actually gets done at the VA.
- Ability to obtain a SECRET security clearance.
- Reside locally in Northern Virgina/Suburban Maryland/DC area.
- CERTIFICATION(s): CCM, CMBOK, APM, CPBP, FAC-C, or Shipley
