About the role

  • We're seeking a results driven Financial Controller ready to take full ownership of the North America accounting function, while partnering with the Senior Commercial Advisor on key financial decisions.
  • Youwill oversee all aspects of financial management, including planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and compliance, while providing strategic financial insights to support the company’s growth and operational goals.
  • The roleworks closely with project managers to ensure robust project-level financial discipline, strong working capital management, and alignment between commercial decisions and overall business performance.
  • Responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of financial information to North America Leadership and the Group finance function, including the month-end management accounts.
  • Further develop financial dashboards and metrics that proactively give North America leadership clear visibility into business performance.
  • Lead the development of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
  • Take a lead role in monitoring and enhancing project profitability and working capital.
  • Work closely with project managers to optimize financial performance and escalate identified risks to the Senior Commercial Advisor.
  • Support ad-hoc project-related financial queries from project managers.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, state/provincial filings, and tax regulations.
  • Monitor internal controls and oversea audit processes, both internal and external.
  • Work with the global Business Delivery Group to improve the Finance service levels to the North American business, seeking process and system improvements.
  • Mentor and lead a high-performing finance team of 4.
  • Continue to foster the culture of continuous improvement and collaboration within the finance function.

Requirements

  • CPA, CA, CMA, or equivalent designation
  • 7+ years in progressive finance roles, with at least 3 years in a team management position.
  • Experience working across the US and Canada strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with Power BI would be an asset.
  • Exceptional communication skills and an ability to prioritize.
  • Proven ability to engage with non-financial stakeholders.
