About the role
- Perform all duties in accordance with States United’s values of integrity, inclusion, collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
- Working with partners, vendors, and consultants with digital and design responsibilities for internal projects and cross-departmental activities.
- Working in close collaboration with staff across the organization to develop and execute digital campaigns (including both paid and organic resources) focused on rule of law, election protection, and the work of state officials.
- Collaborating with communication staff to support long and short-term content strategy and editorial planning.
- Tracking and analyzing digital metrics and budget.
- Supporting day-to-day content updates to owned digital channels (websites, social, newsletter).
- Assisting with special projects led by the Digital Director and other members of the States United team.
Requirements
- At least 8-10 years of experience creating high-quality, compelling written and multimedia content for social media and other digital platforms.
- Experience with backend CMS, including WordPress, Mailchimp, etc.
- Experience with backend social media ad managers for paid digital.
- Experience with social media management and listening tools.
- Experience with digital analytics and reporting tools.
- Professional proficiency with Canva and Microsoft Office.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities, at times driven by the needs of a news cycle.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate successfully with individuals and teams at all levels.

- Willingness and ability to commit to a minimum of 15% travel time.
- Ability to work East Coast hours full time through the contract term period.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in a demanding and fast-paced environment.
- Willingness and ability to work beyond the normal workday, on weekends, and/or more than 40 hours a week as necessary.
