About the role

  • Prepare complex Federal financial expenditure reports
  • Obtain, compile, and analyze complex expenditure data
  • Identify trends and anomalies with departmental financial managers
  • Ensure fiscal compliance with GAAP and state and federal rules
  • Work with Auditors to ensure unqualified/unmodified audit reports are issued
  • Maintain knowledge of CMS program and system requirements
  • Communicate effectively with senior personnel, accounting and financial directors, and federal agencies

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or any discipline that includes 20 credit hours in accounting AND three years of professional experience
  • OR Bachelor's degree in any discipline AND five years of professional experience
  • OR Associate's degree AND seven years of professional experience
  • OR High School diploma AND nine years of professional experience
  • OR One year as a Financial Manager II with the State of Vermont
  • Experience managing programs, funding sources or staff is required
