About the role
- Prepare complex Federal financial expenditure reports
- Obtain, compile, and analyze complex expenditure data
- Identify trends and anomalies with departmental financial managers
- Ensure fiscal compliance with GAAP and state and federal rules
- Work with Auditors to ensure unqualified/unmodified audit reports are issued
- Maintain knowledge of CMS program and system requirements
- Communicate effectively with senior personnel, accounting and financial directors, and federal agencies
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or any discipline that includes 20 credit hours in accounting AND three years of professional experience
- OR Bachelor's degree in any discipline AND five years of professional experience
- OR Associate's degree AND seven years of professional experience
- OR High School diploma AND nine years of professional experience
- OR One year as a Financial Manager II with the State of Vermont
- Experience managing programs, funding sources or staff is required
