About the role
- Report to the Director of Training and focus on the development, delivery, and instruction of law enforcement core competencies.
- Develop, coordinate, and manage curriculum for in-service training for certified officers.
- Mentor and role model best practices in training and discipline.
- Administer physical fitness training programs and collaborate with law enforcement agencies throughout the state.
- Facilitate training sessions and ensure recruit safety and well-being during training.
Requirements
- Three (3) years of professional experience as a certified law enforcement officer including experience with staff training and development.
- Four (4) or more years of experience creating and/or facilitating training programs.
- Certification, or eligibility for certification, as a Vermont Law Enforcement Officer required.
- Associate’s degree or higher in relevant field preferred.
- Must be able to successfully pass a comprehensive background investigation upon receipt of a conditional offer of employment.
