About the role
- Analyzing data related to the health of incarcerated individuals and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in Vermont for awareness and learning opportunities.
- Conducting statistical analyses involving complex epidemiological methods.
- Providing technical assistance regarding data utility and meaning.
- Writing reports, summaries, and documents.
- Giving data-related presentations and responding to internal and external requests.
- Supporting annual grant writing and reporting.
- Working independently and becoming a subject matter expert in population-level carceral health-related public health data and COPD surveillance.
Requirements
- Master's degree or higher in biostatistics, epidemiology, public health or a social sciences discipline, including 6 credits in statistics at the graduate level AND one (1) year or more of professional level work in research, statistics, informatics or program evaluation where the activities include gathering, analyzing and interpreting statistical data.
- OR Bachelor's degree in statistics, a health-related or social sciences discipline, including 12 college credits in statistics, research or computer sciences, and 6 of these credits must be in statistics AND two (2) years or more of professional level work in research, statistics, informatics or program evaluation where the activities include gathering, analyzing and interpreting statistical data.
- OR Associate’s degree in public health, health, scientific or informatics field AND four (4) years or more of experience in research, statistics, informatics or program evaluation where the activities include gathering, analyzing and interpreting statistical data.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office and statistical analysis software (SAS, R, or SPSS) is required.
