About the role

  • Scoping Analysis - Involves evaluating initial design concepts, collaborating with stakeholders to meet regulatory requirements and standards, and providing cost estimates.
  • Roadway Design - Design of horizontal alignments and vertical profiles of State roadways as well as superelevation, drainage, stormwater and erosion protection needs.
  • Bridge Design - Design and analyze various structural elements of bridges, including superstructures, substructures, foundations, and retaining walls, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • CADD Software - Design engineers utilize CADD software extensively throughout the design and construction phases.
  • Collaboration - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, civil engineers, environmental engineers, and transportation planners, to integrate designs with overall infrastructure projects.
  • Documents - Prepare technical reports, drawings, specifications, and other documentation related to design, analysis, and construction activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, architectural engineering, or related technical field AND four (4) years of engineering experience.
  • OR Associates degree in civil engineering, construction management, architectural engineering, or related technical field AND six (6) years of engineering experience INCLUDING licensure as an Engineer Intern.
