About the role

  • The position plays an important role in supporting grant payment processing, financial reconciliation, and program budget monitoring associated with Clean Vessel Act pumpout and dump station projects throughout Florida.
  • Assigning budget codes, reviewing and approving grantee reimbursement requests, routing and tracking grant agreements and associated federal funding sources, and reconciling expenditures within the Florida Accounting Information Resource (FLAIR).
  • Coordinating with Department budget staff and assisting with monitoring program spending authority, financial reporting, and grant closeout activities.
  • Maintaining financial documentation and records in accordance with state and federal record retention requirements.
  • Participating in meetings, conference calls, and coordination activities with program and fiscal staff.
  • Performing other duties as required in support of the Clean Boating Programs.

Requirements

  • At least three years of verifiable related experience in financial administration, accounting support, grant administration, auditing, or fiscal operations.
  • Post secondary degrees from an accredited college or university may be used as an alternative for the required years of experience on a year for year basis.
  • A valid driver license.
  • Florida Certified Contract Manager (FCCM) certification in accordance with Chapter 287.057, Florida Statutes, is required or must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
  • Experience working with state financial systems such as FLAIR or PALM similar accounting systems.
  • Experience administering or supporting federal or state grant programs.
  • Experience reviewing financial documentation for compliance with grant requirements.
  • Experience using spreadsheets and financial tracking tools to monitor program expenditures.
