About the role
- The Life Enrichment Program Manager is responsible for the overall compliance of the Department to include development, implementation, supervision and ongoing evaluation of the activities program.
- Incumbent works on an independent basis and is responsible to plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate and direct a therapeutic program of recreation and activities to meet the individual needs of the residents.
- Ensure that residents in the Veterans’ Nursing Home receive fulfillment of their basic psychological, social, and spiritual needs in accordance with current federal, state and local standards.
- Serve as representative of the Activity Department on the interdisciplinary team with the responsibility of ensuring the resident treatment objectives are consistent with overall treatment process, care plans, MDS assessments and progress notes.
- Evaluate recreation therapy programs and make necessary revisions as needed.
- Lead activity programs as scheduled.
- Supervises and direct assigned CNA/Therapy Aides and Therapy Aides in the recreational activities at the state home.
- Prepare performance standards and reviews, schedules, and approval leave and attendance.
Requirements
- Certified Activity Director or licensed or registered in Florida as a therapeutic recreation specialist or as an activity professional by a recognized accrediting body OR is eligible for licensure as a therapeutic recreation specialist or as an activity professional.
- Possesses two (2) years’ experience in a social or recreational program within the last five (5) years.
- One (1) of which was full-time in a therapeutic activities program; or is a qualified occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant.
- Valid Florida driver’s license.
- Successful completion of the employment screening process to include, but not limited to, a national background investigation and drug test.
