About the role

  • This is an Environmental Consultant position in the Water and Wastewater Section responsible for coordinating the enforcement program for the Section, including application of enforcement protocols and procedures of the drinking water, domestic wastewater, onsite site sewage treatment and disposal, water well program, and public pool programs.
  • Work is performed under the supervision of the Environmental Administrator - SES.
  • This position is part of the On-Call roster in order to maintain an optimal number of positions in the rotation.
  • This position requires independent judgment, initiative, applying general knowledge of business practices and skill in applying instructions to accomplish various job functions.
  • This position performs and/or participates in routine compliance inspections at various facilities, develops and negotiates settlement strategies to return facilities to compliance within program goals and objectives.
  • Investigates complaints in accordance with Florida Department of Health (FDOH) procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher in a natural science (e.g., biology, environmental, physics, etc.) or engineering field from an accredited college or University per Chapter 381 F.S.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Hard hat and steel toe safety boots are required for this position.
