About the role

  • The Bureau of Service Development is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of FLHSMV’s software applications.
  • The Deputy Chief of Service Development oversees three software development teams focused on Driver License Issuance related applications.
  • In addition to team management, the Deputy Chief supports the Bureau Chief in planning, leading, and directing Service Development staff.
  • The role also includes establishing and maintaining effective communication with FLHSMV’s business units, partners, and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Seven years of management experience in an information technology development environment.
  • A bachelor’s degree or greater from an accredited college or university in computer science or management.
  • Experience with Microsoft .NET programming languages.
  • Experience with Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience managing and influencing vendors and consultants.
  • Experience in large scale system implementation.
