About the role

  • Position involves professional nursing work as a member of an integrated team providing care to HIV/AIDS clients
  • Responsible for assuring all clinical services provided are consistent with recommended protocols and of the highest quality
  • Functions with a high degree of independence, utilizing nursing assessment skills
  • Assists in providing orientation, conducting initial patient education and needs assessment
  • Creates patient nursing care plans and works cooperatively with case managers
  • Responsible for accuracy of client’s medical records and tracking laboratory results
  • Conducts phone assessments and triages patients appropriately
  • Prepares patients for examinations and discusses cases with physicians
  • Monitors quality of care to ensure compliance with mandates
  • Assists in the development of policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in accordance with Chapter 464, Florida Statutes
  • Knowledge of nursing principles and techniques, human anatomy and physiology
  • Ability to work with patients, to interpret and follow medical instructions, to observe patients’ symptoms and reactions to treatment
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain effective working relationships
