About the role
- Conduct State Community Assistance Visits (CAVs) to ensure community compliance with NFIP requirements.
- Maintain knowledge of FEMA's NFIP regulations and related state and local regulations.
- Create and file required reports following procedures and protocols.
- Assist community officials with local flood damage prevention ordinance amendments.
- Conduct technical research and facilitate workshops and training sessions.
- Perform assigned duties during EOC activation for emergency response and recovery.
Requirements
- Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) certification or ability to obtain within the first 12 months of employment.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to travel for non-emergency purposes 25% of the time, with a possibility of over 40 hours in a work week.
- Experience with public speaking and presentation software.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) with the ability to learn and navigate FDEM enterprise business systems.
