About the role
- This is a specialized Health Support Specialist position in the Florida Department of Health in Broward County WIC Program.
- The caseload consists of pregnant and postpartum women, infants and children up to the age of five.
- Work requires independent judgment and decision making and must follow federally regulated procedures.
- Work is performed in the WIC clinic under the supervision of the Public Health Nutritionist Supervisor.
- Incumbent in this position may be asked to travel to several clinic locations.
- The incumbent is expected to communicate (by phone, e-mail, or in person) in a courteous and professional manner at all times.
- This position is designated as a sensitive position and is required to maintain confidential information in accordance with the Florida Department of Health in Broward County Information Security policies, protocols and procedures.
- Performs anthropometric measurements according to DOH, BCHD policies, procedures and protocols.
- Operates and maintains anthropometric equipment essential to required duties.
Requirements
- Experience working in a WIC office performing eligibility and benefit issuance
- Experience taking anthropometric and hematological data
- Experience with customer service in person and on the phone
- Willing to work before, during, and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency
- This position requires current authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
