About the role
- This is a supervisory position responsible for purchasing related functions for the Department of Health in Lee County (DOH-Lee).
- This position reports to the Purchasing Manager-SES and is expected to direct the purchasing of a variety of specialized commodities and services within DOH-Lee.
- Communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating employees in addition to planning and directing employees' work.
- The incumbent will also be required to develop performance expectations, meet with staff regularly to discuss performance, complete performance reviews, maintain vacation and work schedules, ensure proper coverage, and complete timesheets.
- Directs the activities of purchasing staff involved in fleet management and purchasing products and services.
- Assist staff with complex procurement processes, including Requests for Quotes (RFQ), Invitations to Bid (ITB), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and Invitations to Negotiate (ITN).
Requirements
- Incumbents must possess a valid Florida Driver License and have a motor vehicle to carry out these duties.
- Incumbents must possess a High School Diploma or GED.
- Certified Contract Manager or willingness to achieve FCCM within the 1st year of hire.
- Knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures related to procurement.
- Knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures related to fleet management.
- Knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures related to inventory control.
- Skilled in arithmetic.
- Skilled in operating computers, printers, and scanners.
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Word.
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Excel.
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft SharePoint.
