About the role

  • Provides visitor services, maintenance, protection, administration, and resource management.
  • Explains facilities and services provided for public use, enjoyment, and education.
  • Meets visitors, answers questions, provides information, and directions.
  • Collects fees and balances a cash drawer for admission to facilities and tours.
  • Implements site restoration projects and water resources management plans.
  • Performs maintenance on buildings, trails, service roads, and campground facilities.
  • Ensures park rules are enforced pertaining to natural and historical resources.
  • Prepares forms and reports on a wide range of subjects including visitor use and patrols.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Successful completion of background and fingerprint check.
  • Ability to perform physical labor utilizing power/electrical/gas tools and equipment in maintenance and repair work.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of maintenance and repair of park facilities and equipment.
  • Ability to assist in transporting lumber and supplies weighing 100 pounds or more.
  • Ability to operate boats of up to 30’ in length with outboard motor.
  • Must be able to work rotating shifts including nights, holidays, and weekends.
