About the role
- Compliance with the processing requirements of Chapter 215.422, F.S. is mandatory.
- Explains facilities and services provided for public use, enjoyment and education; meets visitors, answers questions, provides information and directions.
- Implements ecological burning plan for fire type plant communities; recognizes communities, utilizes control burning techniques.
- Supervises and assists with the maintenance of grounds, facilities and equipment.
- Ensures park rules are enforced pertaining to all facilities and resources, and use thereof, for the enjoyment of the visitor.
- Prepares and implements the Park Protection Plan in accordance with Operations Policy Manual.
Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License
- Pack Test Qualified
- Knowledge of natural resource management practices to include prescribed fire, sea turtle monitoring practices, appropriate methods for control of invasive plants and animals.
- Knowledge and understanding of Florida Park Service Operations Manual, routine, preventive and corrective maintenance necessary to meet FPS standards.
- Skill in personnel management and leadership.
- The ability to participate in all aspects of resource management, including prescribed fire.
- Ability to provide visitor assistance services effectively.
- Ability to understand and apply rules, directives, laws, regulations and policies.
