About the role

  • The Government Operations Consultant II (GOC II) is responsible for providing operational support to the Community Health programs for the Department of Health in Lee County.
  • Responsible for monitoring of services and processes related to billing, clinic flow, clinic scheduling, customer service and program/grant compliance.
  • Ensures client satisfaction by resolving service issues and developing process improvements to prevent recurrences.
  • Ensures compliance with Title X requirements.
  • Assists with the development of local clinical procedures and protocols, as required, consistent with laws, regulations, policies, and program guidelines.
  • Develops training manuals for staff.
  • Acts as a liaison between HIM and clinical staff.
  • Meets with clinic partners (Quest, LabCorp, Currant, etc.) to discuss any issues and updates affecting clinical operations.
  • Monitors and directs clinic flow.
  • Collaborates with clinic managers in monitoring and analyzing clinic operations and clerical processes, and developing and implementing operational plans, policies, and procedures to improve the performance and efficiency of those operations and processes.
  • Monitors clinic stock and inventory (medication/vaccine room and clinic supplies).

Requirements

  • Incumbent must possess a valid Florida Driver License and have a motor vehicle to carry out these duties.
  • Incumbent must possess a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures related to medical coding and billing, health information management, and medical office business operations.
  • Skilled in operating computers, printers, and scanners

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to develop and implement policies and procedures
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
  • Ability to frequently bend, kneel, reach, and sit or stand for long periods of time

  • Ability to interpret and apply rules, regulations, policies and procedures
  • Ability to organize and maintain filing systems

  • Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.
