About the role
- Supervises employees in the General Payments Section
- Communicates with, motivates, trains, and evaluates employees
- Plans and directs workloads, deadlines, work objectives and time utilization
- Provides direction and ensures subordinates receive necessary training
- Analyzes payment documents to determine transaction date
- Monitors the operation of computer-based accounting and financial systems
- Audits payment documents including utility invoice transmittals
- Creates, designs, coordinates, and provides training for District employees
- Researches and resolves payment inquiries from vendors and employees
- Develops internal controls to ensure compliance with audit and inspection reports
Requirements
- Must be United States (U.S.) citizens or lawfully authorized alien workers
- Skills in performing work that requires a high level of attention to detail
- Skills in good customer service
- Skills in organizing records, handling multiple tasks, and handling interruptions
- Skills in designing and conducting training courses
- Ability to analyze and interpret accounting data, applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures
- Ability to work timely and accurately under pressure and handle difficult situations
- Ability to utilize problem solving techniques
- Ability to supervise people effectively, determine work priorities, and assign work tasks
