About the role

  • Responsible for working with everyday court room procedures.
  • The Liaison is responsible for reading provider progress reports to the Judge, regarding the adherence of participants in substance abuse treatment.
  • Responsible for monitoring and coordinating the placement of participants in outpatient treatment, as well as residential services and its accompanying wait list.
  • Prepare daily reports and collect Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous (NA/AA) attendance sheets during the court hearings.
  • Maintain open communication lines with the Drug Court Coordinator, Miami-Dade County Drug Court Judge, case managers, related staff, community programs, state programs, State Attorney’s Office, Public Defender’s Office, Department of Corrections, medical practitioners, volunteers, attending clinicians, participants and their families.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s in psychology, social work, or mental health counseling.
  • Post high school addiction- specific training leading to certification by the Florida Certification Board.
  • One (1) year of experience in case management, crisis intervention, clinical intake, record keeping and business management procedures, in court calendaring and case coordination work involving familiarity with the laws, procedures and operations of the courts.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish or English/Creole preferred.
  • Knowledge of State & Federal Statutes Regarding Patient Confidentiality Laws.
  • Knowledge of Drug-Free Workplace Policies.
  • Knowledge of Workplace Violence.
  • Knowledge of Corporate Integrity & Compliance Program.
  • Ability to utilize court technology.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Excel.
