About the role
- This is a professional public health clinic OPS Advanced Practice Registered Nurse that manages and treats Family Planning, STI, TB, and Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) for HIV clients
- Assess, evaluate, and manage patients in accordance with current APRN professional practice standards
- Documents all observations and actions accurately and in accordance with program guidelines
- Collects data pursuant to and evaluates patient complaints, medical histories, and physical findings
- Orders diagnostic laboratory tests for evaluation and management of patients
- Provides preventive health care services in relation to programmatic guidelines
- Prescribes medication and accurately documents medication in the electronic medical record
- Provides referrals for physician or specialty care when indicated
- Initiates and manages contraceptive methods for Family Planning patients
- Provides verbal and written instructions regarding family planning methods
- Obtains informed consent
- Performs assessment, screening, and counseling
- Provides pregnancy testing and counseling
- This position requires documentation and participation in performance and process improvement initiatives including quarterly chart reviews
Requirements
- Certified as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) in accordance with Florida Statute 464.F.A.C. Chapter 64 B9-4, with specialization as an Adult or Family Nurse Practitioner
- Emergency Duty: lncumbent may be required to work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency.
