About the role
- Responsible for conducting and completing aviation missions in support of FDLE investigations
- Conduct protective operations
- Provide mutual aid during incidents
- Perform activities in support of the Aviation Unit and the Office of Strategic Justice Programs
- Participate in flight operations procedures
- Involved in maintenance tasks
- Engage in safety efforts of the Aviation Unit
Requirements
- Certification by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as a commercial pilot with an instrument rating
- Possess a multi-engine fixed wing rating
- At least 50 hours of night flight time
- 50 hours of instrument flight time
- 500 hours multi-engine Pilot in Command
- Minimum of 1500 hours total flight time
- Must possess or obtain a valid FAA Class II medical certificate prior to employment
- Type rating for a Cessna Citation 680A (Latitude / Sovereign) preferred
- Airline Transport Pilot’s certificate preferred
- Sworn law enforcement experience preferred
- Florida law enforcement certification preferred
- Four-year degree from accredited college or university preferred
- Type rating for a Beechcraft King Air 350 preferred
- Flight instructor certification preferred
- Rotorcraft Helicopter rating preferred
- Certified A&P Mechanic, with or without inspection authority preferred
- Aviation Program Management experience preferred
