About the role
- Provides leadership and technical expertise in the administration of FDOT’s federal aid programs
- Ensures compliance with federal requirements and the timely authorization of transportation projects
- Supports coordination with FHWA, oversees federal funding quality control and reporting
- Manages key processes such as FAR approvals, TIP/STIP amendments, and emergency relief funding
- Through staff supervision, training, and process improvement, helps maximize federal funding, reduce risk, and support efficient delivery of transportation projects statewide
Requirements
- Knowledge of Work Program programming conventions
- Applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations, and guidelines related to qualifying transportation projects for federal funding
- Skills in interpreting state and federal regulations and departmental policy, and developing and implementing guidance
- Effectively supervising subordinate positions
- Collecting and evaluating performance data and making recommendations for improvement
- Using computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel), with demonstrated ability to analyze data using tools such as PivotTables and VLOOKUPs
- Communicating effectively in writing and orally, including presenting information to groups or audiences
