About the role
- As part of the maintenance staff, assists in making repairs to buildings, facilities, and grounds.
- As part of the maintenance staff, assists in maintaining sitewide plumbing, heating, electrical, and security systems.
- Support day-to-day museum operations.
- Assist with preparing the site for extreme weather and helping clean up after extreme weather.
- Assist with other Department of State activities or initiatives as needed
Requirements
- One (1) year of paid work experience in the maintenance and repair of buildings, plumbing, electrical, or mechanical equipment.
- Vocational/technical training in mechanical repair or one of the building trades can substitute at the rate of 360 classroom hours for one year of experience.
- Experience with repair and maintenance procedures and methods
- Skilled in the proper use of maintenance tools and products
- Valid Driver’s License
- Able to work Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and occasionally weekend and after hours as needed.
