About the role
- Serve as an Exemption specialist for the APD provider background screening exemption process.
- Act as an Agency contact person for background screening exemption applications.
- Review and interpret criminal histories from background screenings and determine eligibility in accordance with Florida statutes.
- Conduct searches and gather information from multiple systems to verify applicant background.
- Maintain exemption profiles in the Agency for Healthcare Administration’s Clearinghouse.
- Compile and maintain monthly, quarterly, biannual, and annual exemption data; prepare reports for management as requested.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of Florida Statutes related to background screening and exemptions.
- Ability to understand, apply, and interpret applicable statutes, rules, regulations, and policies.
- Analyzing data and making judgments based on facts.
- Using databases and various systems to verify information.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, providers, consumers, and other stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
