About the role
- Responsible for the supervision of staff including appraisals, planning and directing their work, approving leave, and having the authority for hiring and taking disciplinary action or effectively recommending such actions
- Manage, direct and supervise the professional operation sections of an area office within the Division of Disability Determinations
- Plan, coordinate, implement, evaluate and monitor activities necessary to direct professional operational sections
- Ensures that operational objectives are met in terms of the quantity, quality and timeliness of the work performed
- Develops expectations and meets with staff regularly to discuss performance, complete performance reviews, and discipline action if needed
Requirements
- Current Florida Department of Health Employee
- At least four years’ experience working the following types and levels of SSA disability claims - Adult, Child, Initial, Reconsideration, Continuing Disability Review and Prehearing claims
- Supervisory experience in a Florida Department of Health office or a minimum of three years’ experience managing a team in another agency or outside company
