About the role

  • Provides assistance on all matters pertaining to development and operations of the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) grant program.
  • Interprets regulations and policies for program administrators, voluntary agencies, and community groups.
  • Provides management consultant services and assistance to improve administrative/management capabilities and operational procedures.
  • Conducts analysis of program operations from both an administrative and programmatic perspective.
  • Assists with the development of recommendations for automation enhancements, legislative initiatives, agency policies, and record keeping systems for the VOCA program.
  • Keeps abreast of VOCA-related trends and developments in other states.
  • Recommends the initiation of projects and develops new or revised methods, forms, and reporting systems.
  • Coordinates the grant application review process.
  • Conducts monthly reconciliations of VOCA funds expended in collaboration with finance.
  • Tracks VOCA funds available for annual award calculations and resource allocation decisions.
  • Assists in planning, developing, and participating in conferences and workshops in specific areas.
  • Participates in the development of materials for orientation and training related to grants administration for staff.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting, business or public administration, education, criminology, psychology or one of the social sciences.
  • Five years of professional experience in one of the above areas, at least two years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.
  • A Master's degree can substitute for one year of the required experience.
  • Professional or nonprofessional experience can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
