About the role
- Performs a variety of clerical and health support functions in the WIC program at the Florida Department of Health in Marion County.
- Takes weight and height measurements of WIC clients and performs hematological tests for WIC certification.
- Interviews and screens clients for WIC program eligibility.
- Instructs WIC clients in basic nutrition principles found in the WIC Nutrition Education Kit.
- Issues WIC benefits to program participants.
- Maintains documentation of calibration of hematological equipment and logs of testing and inventory.
- Assists nutrition staff with data entry and organizational duties.
Requirements
- Experience with using Excel, Word, Microsoft Office Suite, or any other computer programs
- Valid Driver License
- Willing to travel site to site
- Experience providing customer service in a clerical setting to a diverse customer base
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
- Fluent in Spanish (Preferred)
- Experience in obtaining Lab and Anthropometric measurements
- Experience working with children
- Prior experience scheduling or rescheduling appointments, screening for eligibility or determining program eligibility
