About the role
- Supervises the park staff in the management of the area’s resources, facilities, and public use.
- Participates in employee training, supervision, and discipline.
- Ensures property procedures and policies are applied.
- Coordinates work schedules and assignments.
- Checks reports, fee collection, and miscellaneous records prepared by the staff.
- Coordinates interpretive programs, activities, and schedules for park unit.
- Supervises the staff in providing visitor services.
- Identifies maintenance needs through daily inspections and maintains schedules.
- Supervises and assists with the maintenance of buildings, roads, bridges, trails, and vehicles.
- Ensures park rules are enforced concerning natural, historical, and archaeological facilities.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge of building construction and maintenance.
- Knowledge of park management and operations.
- Basic arithmetic skills.
- Ability to supervise people.
- Ability to determine work priorities, assign work, and ensure proper completion of work assignments.
- Ability to prepare and maintain schedules and reports.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, holidays, and weekends.
- Ability to reside on park property and participate in the resource management program.
