About the role
- Perform laundry and janitorial duties in compliance with DJJ Detention Service Manual.
- Wash, dry, fold and put away all laundry and clean area daily.
- Clean the lint filter out of all lint on a daily or every time something is dried.
- Stock supplies in the cage by the Kitchen for facility Shift Supervisor’s.
- Have baskets ready with change of clothing for all living units daily.
- Do inventory in the Shed and put all arriving orders away in the shed and conduct a perpetual inventory.
- Place orders with the Administrative Assistant I.
- Attends scheduled shift training sessions and meetings.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned by Superintendent and/or Assistant Superintendents.
- Ensures that all related duties are performed in a timely and correct manner.
Requirements
- Have experience operating laundry equipment.
- Additional preference will be given to candidates with experience in laundry maintenance and repair of buildings, plumbing or electrical or mechanical equipment.
- Vocational/technical training in mechanical repair or one of the building trades can substitute at the rate of 720 classroom hours for a maximum of one year of the required experience.
