About the role
- Oversees the operation of Districtwide Maintenance programs to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, applicable laws and rules
- Communicates with, motivates, trains, evaluates employees, and plans and directs employees’ work
- Provides direction and ensures that all employees receive training and instruction in necessary methods and techniques
- Performs highly advanced transportation engineering duties for the District Maintenance Program
- Administers, directs, and oversees the operation of district wide maintenance operational programs
- Motivates, trains, coaches and guides subordinate employees to improve work quality and quantity
- Monitors assigned program areas for compliance with state and Department policies
- Coordinates, documents, plans, strategizes, and reports on assigned programs
Requirements
- Knowledge of Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) roadway and bridge construction and maintenance
- FDOT rules, processes and procedures
- engineering research and analysis
