About the role
- The incumbent assigned to this position is the single point of contact and responsible for all operational aspects of the individual Community.
- Individuals assigned to this position are responsible and accountable for the health, safety, security and well-being of residents and staff assigned to the respective 24/7 facility.
- Manages and supervises direct care staff in the care and custody of vulnerable persons who are intellectually challenged.
- Coordinates and works in partnership with colleagues, medical, security, behavioral services, and resident and support services managers to ensure that all residents receive quality and timely services which will enable them to live in a safe and secure environment while participating in programs and activities designed to assist them in achieving competency.
- Works in partnership with the Social Services and Program Services to ensure that support coordination activities and resident training programs achieve desirable results for the resident population.
- Provides feedback and input regarding the service delivery and quality of services provided to the residents.
- Works in partnership with the Behavioral Services Department to ensure that behavioral programs are consistently and fairly administered to document and manage resident behaviors.
- Works in partnership with the Chief of Security to ensure that staff, residents, and visitors adhere to all security protocols to minimize contraband introduction and maintain a secure and safe environment for residents and staff.
- Make recommendations for changes to security protocols and enhancements as appropriate.
- Works in partnership with the medical and nursing staff to ensure that residents receive timely and quality health care services.
- Works in partnership with the Budget Manager to ensure that budget resources are maximized to accomplish the mission of the agency and provide for the well-being and needs of the resident population.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in education, social work, nursing, rehabilitation counseling, physical therapy, occupational therapy, recreation therapy, speech pathology, audiology, health care management, business, or public administration and three years of professional experience in treating persons with developmental disabilities, one of which must have been in an administrative or supervisory capacity; or years of experience to in listed areas to substitute for educational requirement.
- A master's degree from an accredited college or university in psychology or any of the areas of major study described above and two years of experience as described above, one of which must have been in an administrative or supervisory capacity.
- MANDT at the Advanced level is required unless the incumbent requests reasonable accommodation supported by an annual medical certification.
- Incumbent is required to submit to pre-employment TB screening and on an annual on-going basis as prescribed by DDDP.
