About the role

  • Spends majority of their time communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating employees
  • Planning and directing employees’ work, with authority to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, or discipline subordinate employees
  • Assists the Bureau Chief in the overall management and administration of bureau operations
  • Provides daily consultation and recommendations to the Bureau Chief and park managers
  • Handles routine and critical matters in the absence of the Bureau Chief
  • Responsible for overall management of the bureau office involving administrative and personnel matters
  • Monitors and directs education and training program(s) and volunteer coordination
  • Identifies needs and monitors progress of grants program, budget tracking, and reconciliation
  • Plans and directs construction and maintenance programs
  • Conducts on-site reviews of district parks to assess efficiency and effectiveness

Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Position of Special Trust Requirement: Successful completion of background screening will be required for this position.
