About the role
- Provides visitor services at Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park.
- Maintains and repairs captive wildlife exhibits, park grounds, facilities and equipment.
- Cares for captive wildlife and protects natural resources.
- Prepares forms and reports regarding park management.
- Operates park radio and maintains logs.
- Ensures visitor and wildlife safety through routine patrols.
Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License
- Knowledge of animal husbandry principles and techniques
- General maintenance and repair techniques
- Ability to conduct routine inspections
- Identify, assess and investigate problems related to animal husbandry
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
- Prepare reports
- Understand and apply rules and regulations
- Maintain facilities and equipment
- Operate two-way radio
- Perform manual labor including lifting animals, supplies and materials
- Work independently and exercise good judgment
- Conduct interpretive programs on a daily basis
