About the role

  • Works in the admitting/eligibility department and also performs cashier duties
  • Uses multiple computer applications to determine client financial eligibility for services
  • Assists clients with completion of consents, forms, and applications as needed
  • Collects and updates client demographic information
  • Schedules client appointments and completes appointment reminder phone calls
  • Completes client check out process by billing and accepting payments
  • Provides receipts to clients and reconciles cash, check, and credit card payments
  • Prepares the bank deposit daily and completes the cashier close out process
  • Resolves routine billing errors and omissions with clinic staff
  • Organizes and maintains client billing records, processes client refunds
  • Answers routine billing questions from staff and clients
  • Scans and attaches documents to client medical records
  • Processes requests for copies of medical records in accordance with State law and HIPAA

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of computer experience
  • At least 2 years’ experience working in a fast-paced customer service position
  • Willingness to travel to all DOH Pinellas Clinic locations to provide coverage as needed (travel is reimbursed)
  • Preferred 6 months’ cash handling experience
  • At least 1 year experience working in a medical office setting
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
