About the role
- Perform general maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds and equipment and other miscellaneous items as directed
- This includes performing preventative maintenance on all buildings and related equipment
- Perform minor repairs on all plumbing, electrical and communication equipment
- Perform repair/alterations of building woodwork
- Prepare and paint interior and exterior of buildings and equipment and other miscellaneous item as directed
- Perform by understanding/following all safety related rules to include OSHA, NFPA, FWRI, and complete the OSHA 10 training
- Perform/assist in hurricane preparedness program
- Perform setup and take down for events
- Assist with HVAC maintenance and operations
- Access the facility's CMMS (work order system) to prepare and close out work orders
- Complete assigned inspections and create additional work orders as needed
- Install, maintain, and repair valves, faucets, traps, sinks, water closets and urinals
- Perform general carpentry work in the alteration, repair and maintenance of buildings, floors, doors, and windows
- Repair defective components in lighting fixtures, replace defective electrical switches and receptacles
- Relocate furniture and equipment from building to building as required
- Coordinate maintenance and repair work performed by outside vendors on a one-time and ongoing basis
- Perform other related duties as required
Requirements
- 1-2 years of experience in property maintenance, construction, and/or facility repairs
- can substitute for years of education or a bachelor's degree from a college or university with a major in building construction, engineering, and/or business
- knowledge of or aptitude to learn carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC
- Valid driver's license
- Good physical condition and ability to do landscape work, attic work, and other manual labor
