About the role

  • Perform general maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds and equipment and other miscellaneous items as directed
  • This includes performing preventative maintenance on all buildings and related equipment
  • Perform minor repairs on all plumbing, electrical and communication equipment
  • Perform repair/alterations of building woodwork
  • Prepare and paint interior and exterior of buildings and equipment and other miscellaneous item as directed
  • Perform by understanding/following all safety related rules to include OSHA, NFPA, FWRI, and complete the OSHA 10 training
  • Perform/assist in hurricane preparedness program
  • Perform setup and take down for events
  • Assist with HVAC maintenance and operations
  • Access the facility's CMMS (work order system) to prepare and close out work orders
  • Complete assigned inspections and create additional work orders as needed
  • Install, maintain, and repair valves, faucets, traps, sinks, water closets and urinals
  • Perform general carpentry work in the alteration, repair and maintenance of buildings, floors, doors, and windows
  • Repair defective components in lighting fixtures, replace defective electrical switches and receptacles
  • Relocate furniture and equipment from building to building as required
  • Coordinate maintenance and repair work performed by outside vendors on a one-time and ongoing basis
  • Perform other related duties as required

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in property maintenance, construction, and/or facility repairs
  • can substitute for years of education or a bachelor's degree from a college or university with a major in building construction, engineering, and/or business
  • knowledge of or aptitude to learn carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC
  • Valid driver's license
  • Good physical condition and ability to do landscape work, attic work, and other manual labor
