About the role
- This is a Health Support Technician position working for the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC)
- Work is performed under the supervision of the Public Health Nutritionist Supervisor
- Performs anthropometric measurements according to FDOH-CHD policies
- Screens medical records for current weight and height
- Inputs all required fields in the Lab/Anthro screen in the FL WISE System
- Performs hemoglobin/hematocrit tests according to FDOH-CHD Laboratory Procedure Manual
- Attends lab trainings as required
- Interviews clients to obtain and verify demographic and income data
- Promotes breastfeeding as the optimal method of infant feeding.
Requirements
- Medical Assistant Certificate or higher per DHM 150-24 WIC Supplemental Procedures Manual
- Valid Driver’s License
- Incumbent may be required to work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency
- Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 lbs.
