About the role
- Serves as a courier with the Florida Department of Health (DOH)
- Performs a wide variety of duties including courier services, mail management, operation of a motor vehicle and other related duties
- Delivers, picks up, sorts, processes, and distributes mail, material and other items
- Adjust pickup and delivery schedule as needed for unexpected requests
- Loads and unloads materials or equipment
- Picks up items at storage facilities, delivers and distributes supplies and material
- Assists the Property Custodian with property management
- Makes daily bank deposits and returns bag(s) and receipt(s)
- Ensures Administration vehicles are maintained and serviced
Requirements
- A valid State of Florida driver’s license
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to lift and move boxes up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to move freely around and work outside in high heat and humid conditions
- The incumbent must also be capable of operating a variety of government vehicles to include sedans, large vans, or box trucks in the performance of courier and/or delivery services.
- Incumbent may be required to work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency or as needed.
