About the role
- Support the Florida Department of Health in Monroe County
- Develop performance expectations and conduct performance reviews
- Oversee environmental health operations across the Middle and Upper Keys
- Serve as a liaison with other governmental agencies
- Assist in maintaining efficient and effective operations for the Environmental Health offices
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major of the physical sciences, environmental health, or engineering
- Licensure for performing environmental health and sanitary evaluations in a primary program area of environmental health
- Current certification in OSTDs and food safety inspections
- Valid Florida Driver’s License and access to private transportation
- Knowledge of Epidemiologic principles and practices related to public health surveillance, case investigation, outbreak investigation, and disease control
- Knowledge of microbiology sufficient to be able to work with public health and clinical laboratories
- Knowledge on the utilization of statistical analysis software for data analysis
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and Word
