About the role
- Examine, evaluate, inspect, monitor and/or investigate eligibility and/or conformity with laws and regulations governing legal compliance of licenses, licensees, permits, and permit holders.
- Complete assigned routine, new opening, change of location, apprentice and closing inspections of healthcare facilities and/or establishments.
- Investigate possible criminal violations of applicable laws and/or alleged violations in health care facilities.
- Demonstrate good public relations with licensees, the general public, local authorities, and other state agencies through personal contact and communication.
- Coordinate with Investigators for the Department of Health alleged violations through inspections, investigations, and audits relating to Florida Statutes and appropriate Board Administrative Rules.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent; AND Four (4) years of professional experience in fields such as investigative, law enforcement, working in the juvenile or adult criminal justice system, regulatory inspections, regulatory compliance, resource protection, affirmative action, equal employment opportunity, claims adjusting, auditing, financial examining, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field of study can substitute for required professional experience.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Ability to drive a state-owned vehicle for more than two hours and greater than 100 miles per day.
- Must satisfactorily complete a background investigation, fingerprinting, and participation in direct deposit are requirements for employment.
