About the role

  • Responsible for receiving, reviewing and assigning all abuse reports received from the Florida Abuse Hotline.
  • Follow up with the appropriate supervisory personnel to ensure they are aware of the pending investigation and staff assignment.
  • Print and review all abuse reports received from the Hotline and OTI requests called in from other counties.
  • Coordinate with the Florida Abuse Hotline Information system (FAHIS), Child Information System (CIS) and Florida Safe Families Network (FSFN).
  • Review appropriate databases for previous or open investigations and child family involvement with other family safety programs.
  • Provide clerical support for a multi-function Family Safety Unit.
  • Prepare intake case records for Child Protective Investigator.
