- develop rapport with death-sentenced clients
- investigate, draft, and present motions for post-conviction relief in state court
- litigate access to public records
- conduct evidentiary hearings in state circuit court
- file and argue appeals in the Florida Supreme Court
- file Petitions for Writs of Habeas Corpus in federal district courts
- handle appeals in the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court
- work closely with investigators and clients' friends and family members
- identify documents to collect
- review trial evidence and develop mitigation themes
