About the role
- This position performs advanced engineering work and ensures final estimate policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Supervises employees final estimate activities including processing progress estimates for road and bridge projects, auditing and closing out final estimate packages, properly archiving and storing construction records, completing final payoff processes, and interpreting contract and specification language.
- Reviews the performance of Final Estimates Level II qualified personnel working within the district.
- Communicates regularly, motivates, trains, coaches, and guides subordinate employees to improve the quality and quantity of work performed.
Requirements
- Candidates must be United States (U.S.) citizens, or lawfully authorized alien workers, and must possess permanent work authorization for any U.S. employer.
- Final Estimates Level II Certification must be obtained within 3 months of start date and maintained thereafter.
- Knowledge of concepts, terminology, principles and analytical techniques of Final Estimates.
- Ability to interpret and make engineering judgments in the application of Florida Department of Transportation standard specifications, basis of estimates and field standards for final estimates.
- Ability to supervise people.
- Ability to analyze and interpret engineering data.
- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
- Ability to communicate engineering information effectively.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Proficiency in using a personal computer and department-used software programs.
