About the role
- Assists the Bureau Chief in the overall management and administration of bureau operations
- Provides consultation and recommendations to the Bureau Chief and to park managers
- Handles routine as well as critical matters requiring attention in the absence of the Bureau Chief
- Supervises managers in the operations of park units within the District
- Responsible for administering and directing the management of all operating units
- Conducts on-site reviews of district parks to assess efficiency and effectiveness of operations
- Assists the Bureau Chief in the development of budget requests, and allocation of funds commensurate to priorities
- Directs the establishment of goals and objectives for each unit and reviews, approves and monitors action plans to accomplish those goals and objectives
- Monitors and assesses the operation of district units to assure cost effective operations and compliance
- Assures completion of and participates in conducting annual management summaries and annual performance and fiscal audits as required
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Knowledge of basic management principles and practices
- Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis
- Knowledge of prescribed burn and wildlife characteristics
- Knowledge of ADA requirements and reasonable accommodations practices
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and operational safety requirements and rules
