About the role

  • Work to protect, promote and improve the health of all people in Florida through integrated state, county, and community efforts
  • Promote innovation by searching for creative solutions and managing resources wisely
  • Collaborate through teamwork to achieve common goals and solve problems
  • Conduct inspections, re-inspections, and complaint investigations at all assigned facilities
  • Review and approve plans for new construction
  • Approve facilities for issuance of new and renewal of permits and maintain the Environmental Health Database (EHD)

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Natural, Physical, environmental or life science or with at least 30 semester hours in a natural, physical or environmental science
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Willing to work independently and in remote areas
  • Willing and able to work outdoors in the heat and inclement weather
