About the role
- Work with guidance and direction on tasks and smaller projects
- Advanced mechanical design for the built environment including HVAC, piping and plumbing
- Participate in evaluation, recommendation, and specification for engineered systems indicating compliance with applicable codes
- Conduct interpretations of drawings, codes, and other similar materials
- Perform Revit and/or AutoCAD design for the mechanical and plumbing disciplines
- Work with architectural, interior, and other engineering disciplines in project coordination
- Perform field work and provide field observation reports
- Conduct basic calculations to analyze and design individual building mechanical system components
- Perform other miscellaneous engineering tasks as required
- Assist with collecting data and gathering information to support design decisions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering
- 3+ years related professional experience; or equivalent combination of experience & education
- Industry-specific co-op/Internship experience preferred
- EIT / FE certification preferred
- Must have valid driver’s license and a clean MVR
- Basic understanding of Revit and AutoCAD, and the use of it as a drafting/design tool
- Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought
- Thorough understanding of mechanical engineering concepts and ability to effectively communicate ideas to others
- Ability to interpret sketches, drawings, building program and other similar material
- Ability to take direction, follow process and accept feedback and suggestions from Senior Engineers
- Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, AutoCAD; Prefer experience with Newforma, Trane Trace & IES.
