About the role
- Manage complex tasks on medium to large size projects throughout the project life cycle
- Plan, organize, and direct work to successfully deliver projects to the client
- Keep the Principal in Charge informed of progress, expectations, deadlines, and deliverables
- Lead the client and project team to assure project design meets budget, schedule, program, and design intent
- Lead technical project portions including discipline coordination and providing technical direction to the design team (building codes and regulatory requirements)
- Develop and manage project budget, schedule, and overall work plan; manage project financials
- Assist in negotiation and development of project agreements
- Lead project coordination and owner/site meetings with internal team members, external consultants, owners, contractors, and subcontractors
- Manage construction administration: review shop drawings and submittals, respond to RFIs, prepare site observation reports, and other contract administration tasks
- Manage and track change orders, contractor payment applications, and contractual modifications impacting budget and schedule
- Conduct quality assurance and quality control on projects and participate in constructability reviews
- Mentor Assistant Project Managers and motivate project teams
- Assure that Project Management Framework tasks are timely completed and properly documented
- Work with Operations Manager to determine project staffing needs and recommend personnel
- Direct client invoicing and effectively manage collections
- Lead development of integrated design proposals and coordinate with clients and project leaders
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience with a history in industrial, transit or city buildings
- Professional Licensure a plus, but not required
- LEED Green Associate or LEED AP a plus
- Strong Revit skills; familiarity with clash coordination strategies a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Newforma
- Preferred experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUp
- Thorough understanding of accessibility codes, life-safety codes, building construction systems, means and methods, materials, and industry-associated standards
- Project management, budgeting, scheduling, and construction administration experience
- Experience mentoring junior staff and leading project teams
- Ability to participate in constructability reviews and site observations
