About the role

  • Maintain approximate 65% direct utilization through managing and/or supporting the delivery of environmental planning and climate change-related services
  • Manage and deliver environmental planning projects under CEQA and NEPA, including EIRs, EAs, EISs, and IS/MNDs
  • Contribute expertise to GHG inventories, emissions assessments, and climate action planning projects
  • Support development of decarbonization strategies, emissions reduction pathways, and climate-related planning initiatives
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams of technical specialists and coordinate preparation of environmental documentation
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budgets, and deliverable quality
  • Lead and support proposal development, risk reviews, pursuit strategy, interviews, and contract negotiations
  • Contribute to profitable revenue growth and promotion of environmental planning and climate change-related services in California
  • Serve as a key client manager for public and private sector clients, maintaining strong relationships and supporting long-term partnerships
  • Provide senior technical guidance to staff preparing environmental documentation and climate analyses
  • Mentor and coach employees in different professional roles and career streams, within standard practice and company guidelines

Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years of professional environmental planning and atmospheric sciences quality experience
  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, or a related field
  • Advanced degrees and professional registration are strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal air quality rules and regulations including district regulatory programs
  • Expertise in atmospheric sciences and greenhouse gas analyses
  • Strong MS Office computer skills; advanced understanding of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
  • Must have a good driving record and valid Driver's License
  • Prior to employment with Stantec, the candidate may be required to successfully pass a physical and drug/alcohol screening, if applicable
