About the role
- Actively manage diverse programs and projects of varying size and complexity through the entire project lifecycle
- Identify and manage priorities, risks, issues, and develop mitigation strategies
- Provide day-to-day program and project oversight and communication with the client and project team
- Understand contracts and delivery methods and assist with the negotiation of contracts
- Develop, track, update, forecast and modify program and project schedules
- Review and track all contracts, invoices, and payments to all contractors, consultants, and vendors and prepare reports for clients and other stakeholders
- Manage change order process for scope, schedule and budget variance and assist in resolving disputes and claims
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and the HSSE management system on assigned projects
- Provide expert advice, training and recommendations on project management standards, governance, and procedures to continuously improve project management practices
- Act as an ambassador of the company in all interactions with clients, consultants, and peers.
Requirements
- A minimum of five (5) years of engineering related project experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Engineering degree/technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in a related field: or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- P.Eng, PMP certification, or an equivalent designation is an asset
- Project coordination and multi-disciplinary team leadership experience are essential to the role
- Knowledge and experience in energy and resources is considered an asset
- Strong leadership skills & the ability to move a team forward
- Ability to manage stakeholders
- Detail-oriented, dependable, and able to perform well under the pressure of deadlines
- Adapt to a dynamic project environment and can manage multiple tasks over an extended period
- Solid verbal and written communication skills
- Proactively identify risks and determine their impact on the program or project with a proven ability to mitigate or resolve in a timely manner
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully with clients, internal teams, and contractors
- Experience with budget management
- Understanding of plans, contracts, and specifications.
