About the role

  • Support the design, analysis, and construction of all types of infrastructure projects, with specific focus cold regions and permafrost areas in Canada
  • Carry out complex analysis using state of the practice software
  • Manage and coordinate geotechnical-focused and multidisciplinary project teams, commensurate with your experience and capabilities
  • Mentor and be mentored by colleagues across a breadth of experience fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and build strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and industry partners
  • Contribute to business development, proposal preparation, and market expansion initiatives
  • Drive innovation by leading or contributing to digitization initiatives, advanced numerical modeling, market research, and the development of emerging technologies, with a focus on climate change adaptation, and risk and liability reduction

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geological, Civil, or Geotechnical Engineering (Master’s or PhD an asset)
  • 7+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Experience in cold regions and permafrost geotechnical design and construction
  • Knowledge of relevant Canadian and global cold regions and permafrost guidelines and standards
  • General knowledge of geotechnical software solutions (GeoStudio™, LeapFrog, Rocscience)
  • Demonstrated ability to work and manage projects independently and on a team
  • Proactive approach and strong problem-solving skills
  • Passion for making a positive impact through engineering
  • Effective communication skills, including report writing and client engagement
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
  • Commitment to technical excellence and mentorship. Active participation in professional associations and technical communities is an asset
