About the role
- Support the design, analysis, and construction of all types of infrastructure projects, with specific focus cold regions and permafrost areas in Canada
- Carry out complex analysis using state of the practice software
- Manage and coordinate geotechnical-focused and multidisciplinary project teams, commensurate with your experience and capabilities
- Mentor and be mentored by colleagues across a breadth of experience fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and build strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and industry partners
- Contribute to business development, proposal preparation, and market expansion initiatives
- Drive innovation by leading or contributing to digitization initiatives, advanced numerical modeling, market research, and the development of emerging technologies, with a focus on climate change adaptation, and risk and liability reduction
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Geological, Civil, or Geotechnical Engineering (Master’s or PhD an asset)
- 7+ years of relevant industry experience
- Experience in cold regions and permafrost geotechnical design and construction
- Knowledge of relevant Canadian and global cold regions and permafrost guidelines and standards
- General knowledge of geotechnical software solutions (GeoStudio™, LeapFrog, Rocscience)
- Demonstrated ability to work and manage projects independently and on a team
- Proactive approach and strong problem-solving skills
- Passion for making a positive impact through engineering
- Effective communication skills, including report writing and client engagement
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
- Commitment to technical excellence and mentorship. Active participation in professional associations and technical communities is an asset
